Airport P3s – Looking Down the Runway

After a slow start, airport public-private partnerships were finally starting to find some traction in the US in recent years, with several significant projects reaching financial close. However, even before COVID-19 started to spread, there were some high profile cancellations that set the sector back. The impact of COVID-19 on domestic and global air travel is likely to restrain new project development in the short to medium term. But as the recently curtailed St. Louis Lambert International Airport P3 procurement demonstrated, there is strong international interest in P3 opportunities at US airports.
