Richard T. Anderson, recently retired as President of New York Building Congress. Prior to accepting the role at the Building Congress in 1994, Anderson served as executive director of The Dallas Plan and as president of the Regional Plan Association.

He was the first elected President of the 40,000-member American Planning Association and served as chairman of its College of Fellows.

Anderson is a founding member of the American Institute of Certified Planners; a Member of the National Academy of Construction; a Director of the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York, the Salvadori Center, and the National Building Museum; and a Trustee of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of New York City.
